PRIVATE IN-HOME DOG TRAINING

Dog Training Programs Built for Real Life

Private, in-home dog training built around your dog, your household, and the behavior you need in everyday life.

Training Built Around Your Dog and Household

Pragmatik Canines provides private, in-home dog training throughout the greater Sacramento area. Every dog needs a different level of structure, professional involvement, and owner support. Some owners need focused coaching. Others need a complete training system, behavior intervention, or a higher level of hands-on professional training.

You do not need to choose the right program before contacting us. Every new training relationship begins with a professional in-home assessment so we can understand your dog, your household, your goals, and what will realistically be required.

All program prices below include the $175 assessment credit. You pay for the assessment first. If you enroll in an eligible recommended training program, the full $175 is applied toward the published program total.

THE FIRST STEP

Start With a Professional In-Home Assessment

$175 | 75–90 Minutes | In Your Home

The assessment is a working session—not a sales call. We observe your dog in context, discuss the patterns affecting behavior, evaluate handling and household routines, and determine which service is appropriate.

Your assessment includes:

  • Observation of behavior, engagement, thresholds, and recovery
  • Review of routines, boundaries, handling, and household dynamics
  • Discussion of your concerns, priorities, and realistic goals
  • Professional recommendations and a clear next step

If training is appropriate and you choose to continue, the full assessment fee is credited once toward your eligible program total. The assessment does not obligate you to purchase training, and it does not guarantee acceptance into every program.

Personal Coaching

Targeted Private Coaching

$850 Total | Four In-Person Sessions | Four Weeks

Personal Coaching is designed for a household that wants individual, in-home help with one clearly defined, lower-risk training priority. Across four weekly sessions, Pragmatik Canines studies the pattern, demonstrates the mechanics, coaches your handling, and adjusts a practical plan around what is happening in daily life.

This may be a strong fit when your primary concern is:

  • Establishing one household routine or boundary
  • Improving leash handling on ordinary neighborhood walks
  • Addressing jumping, overexcitement, or another focused manners concern
  • Correcting timing, consistency, or follow-through with skills your dog is learning

The format is intentionally focused: each week advances the same agreed priority instead of spreading four visits across a broad obedience curriculum. You remain the dog’s primary trainer and carry out the practice between sessions, with a practical weekly plan and brief between-session guidance from Pragmatik Canines.

Personal Coaching is not appropriate for serious aggression, significant bite risk, complex rehabilitation, or cases requiring the trainer to assume most of the direct work. It is offered in limited coaching blocks and within a compact service area.

OWNER-LED PRIVATE TRAINING

Guided Development Programs

Guided Training is a progressive private program rather than a series of isolated problem-solving sessions. Pragmatik Canines meets with you twice per week, demonstrates and coaches each stage, evaluates progress before advancing, and coordinates your dog’s communication, household structure, leash work, and obedience development.

Every visit and progression is individualized to your dog, your household, and the environments where the behavior must work. You complete structured practice between visits so the skills become dependable without the trainer standing beside you.

Fundamental Core

Guided Foundation Training

$1,400 Total | Eight Private Guided Visits | Four Weeks

For puppies, adolescent dogs, and adult dogs that need a complete working system—not help with only one isolated concern. With two private visits each week, every stage is demonstrated, practiced, reviewed, and strengthened before the program advances.

Training priorities may include:

  • Engagement, focus, and marker communication
  • Crate training and age-appropriate potty-training routines
  • Household safety, thresholds, boundaries, and calm routines
  • Leash management, communication, and structured walking
  • Foundational sit, down, place, stay, and release work
  • Enrichment, appropriate daily outlets, and recovery after arousal
  • Impulse control and handler awareness

The eight-visit sequence gives Pragmatik Canines repeated opportunities to observe the dog and handler, correct developing problems, and connect the skills into one usable foundation. Owners must practice between visits for the work to transfer into daily life.

Continued Reliablility

Guided Off-Leash Reliablility

$1,500 Total | Eight Guided Visits | Four Weeks

For dogs that already have an appropriate foundation but need stronger responsiveness around distance, distractions, and real-world environments.

Training priorities may include:

  • Recall development and long-line progression
  • Duration, distance, and distraction proofing
  • Public-environment neutrality and handler engagement
  • Advanced leash or e-collar communication when appropriate
  • Real-world application of established obedience

This is not a beginner program. Your dog’s foundation, emotional stability, environmental readiness, and your handling determine the safest and most productive progression, including whether long-line, e-collar, or off-leash work is appropriate.

Most Complete Guided Option

Guided Foundation & Reliability Package

$2,700 Total | Twelve Guided Visits | Six Weeks

For owners who want one structured pathway that develops their dog’s foundation and then carries those skills into greater reliability around real-life distractions.

The program integrates:

  • Clear communication, engagement, and household structure
  • Crate routines, potty-training support, household safety, and recovery
  • Foundational obedience, leash management, and enrichment
  • Recall and reliability progression
  • Environmental exposure and distraction proofing
  • Owner handling, transfer, and long-term maintenance

Foundation and reliability are developed together according to your dog’s readiness. This is the most complete Guided option, but it still depends on consistent owner practice between visits.

BEHAVIOR SUPPORT

Guided Behavior Programs

Behavior work is not simply a matter of teaching commands. Reactivity, fear, over-arousal, aggression, and bite risk are affected by the dog’s emotional patterns, environment, household routines, and the way people respond.

These programs require meaningful owner participation. Pragmatik Canines provides professional assessment, structure, coaching, management, and carefully planned training designed around your dog’s thresholds, recovery, environment, and household realities.

Behavior Reconditioning

Guided Reconditioning & Stability

Starting at $2,500 | Six-Week Engagement

For dogs whose reactivity, anxiety, environmental sensitivity, frustration, or instability requires a structured behavior plan rather than an ordinary obedience package.

The assessment-built plan may include:

  • Identification of triggers, thresholds, and behavioral patterns
  • Household management and routine changes
  • Handler coaching and communication
  • Controlled exposure and reconditioning work
  • Development of greater recovery, stability, and functional behavior

Cadence and direct-service allocation are determined after assessment because productive behavior work must follow your dog’s readiness—not an artificial promise to reach a fixed destination by a certain session.

High-Risk Behavior Cases

Guided Behavioral Risk Management

Starting at $3,200 | Eight-Week Engagement

For dogs with a bite history, serious aggression, or elevated safety concerns that require more extensive planning, owner education, and long-term management.

The assessment-built plan may include:

  • Household safety protocols and prevention systems
  • Trigger analysis and controlled exposure planning
  • Muzzle conditioning when appropriate
  • Handler competency and management routines
  • Behavior tracking and realistic maintenance planning
  • Coordination with veterinary or behavior professionals when appropriate

Acceptance is discretionary and based on safety, household participation, and whether Pragmatik Canines is the appropriate provider. Some dogs require ongoing management, veterinary involvement, referral, or a different level of care. Pragmatik Canines will recommend the safest appropriate path, including referral when another provider or level of care is needed.

LIMITED-CAPACITY SERVICES

Premium Trainer-Led Programs

These services are for suitable dogs whose households want Pragmatik Canines to assume most of the direct training work. They provide substantially more hands-on professional repetition than Guided Training while still preparing the household to maintain what the dog learns.

Availability is limited because each program requires significant individual scheduling, travel, or residential capacity.

Selective Board & Train

An Immersive Stay in a Private Residential Setting

$4,200 Total | 21 Consecutive Days | One Dog at a Time

A private residential training experience for carefully selected development, foundation, household-routine, leash, and reliability cases.

The program includes:

  • Multiple short training sessions integrated throughout daily life
  • Household structure and calm routine development
  • Leash communication and foundational obedience
  • Controlled real-world exposure when appropriate
  • Scheduled progress updates
  • A substantial owner handover session
  • One follow-up coaching session

This is intentionally not a volume kennel program. Only one Board & Train dog is accepted at a time, dates are limited, and every dog must be appropriate for a private residential environment.

Selective Board & Train is not offered for serious aggression, advanced behavioral-risk rehabilitation, or dogs that cannot be safely managed in the trainer’s home. The owner handover and follow-up are designed to help the household preserve and extend the work after the dog returns.

Premium In-Home Training

Concierge Foundation & Reliability

High-Frequency Professional Training Where Your Dog Actually Lives

$6,800 Total | 24 Trainer-Led Visits | Six Weeks | Two-Part Payment Schedule

Concierge Foundation & Reliability is Pragmatik Canines’ most trainer-led non-residential program. It is designed for busy or high-expectation households that want the trainer to build their dog’s foundation and reliability through frequent professional repetition while the dog continues living at home.

The program includes:

  • Twenty standard trainer-led visits of up to one hour
  • Four extended real-world field-training sessions of up to three hours from pickup through return
  • Foundation, communication, household structure, and core skill development
  • Reliability work around distance and distraction
  • Controlled environmental exposure and real-world proofing
  • Four progressive household-handler transfer checkpoints integrated into the 24-visit schedule
  • Weekly progress reports and bounded implementation support
  • A written maintenance plan
  • One 60-minute follow-up after completion

Before training begins, the written proposal identifies the skills and environments being addressed and defines observable, dog-appropriate milestones for the work. Weekly updates show what your dog can currently perform, where support is still needed, and what the household will need to maintain.

Frequent training in your dog’s actual home, neighborhood, and working environments allows Pragmatik Canines to build the behavior where your household will need to use it. Progressive transfer checkpoints teach approved handlers what has been developed before the program ends.

You are not required to attend most visits, but household participation is still essential. Your dog’s readiness determines whether long-line, e-collar, off-leash, dog-neutrality, or other advanced work is appropriate.

The investment reflects 24 individual trainer visits, repeated travel, extended field work, progress reporting, and household transfer throughout the program.

Complete Concierge is a development and reliability program. It is not presented as an outsourced solution for serious aggression or complex behavior rehabilitation.

BEFORE YOU ENROLL

Frequently Asked Questions

Which program should I choose?

You do not need to decide on your own. The assessment determines your dog’s needs, your household’s responsibilities, the appropriate level of professional involvement, and which options are realistically suitable.

Is the assessment an additional charge on top of the program price?

No. You pay $175 for the completed assessment. If you enroll in an eligible recommended program, the full $175 is credited toward the published program total.

How is Guided Training different from a group class?

Group classes teach several dog-and-handler teams in one shared setting and typically follow a common curriculum. Guided Training is private, takes place in environments relevant to your household, and follows an individualized progression. You still practice between visits, but every professional session is devoted to your dog, your handling, and your goals.

Will Pragmatik Canines train my dog, or will I do the training?

Personal Coaching and Guided programs are owner-led: Pragmatik Canines teaches and directs the process while you build your dog’s behavior between visits. Selective Board & Train and Concierge Foundation & Reliability involve substantially more direct professional training, followed by required household transfer and maintenance.

Why does Concierge cost more than Selective Board & Train?

Both are trainer-led, but their delivery models are different. A residential stay allows the trainer to provide repeated daily work from one location. Concierge requires 24 separate home and field visits across six weeks, plus extended outings, progress reporting, and handler transfer throughout the program. The price difference reflects additional travel, individual scheduling, and real-environment delivery—not a promise that one format is better for every dog.

What determines training progress?

Progress is influenced by the individual dog, health, learning history, environment, household participation, safety, and continued practice. Pragmatik Canines commits to professional assessment, clear instruction, structured delivery, honest measurement, and recommendations grounded in your dog’s actual response.

Do you serve the entire Sacramento area?

Pragmatik Canines provides in-home training throughout the greater Sacramento area. Published prices include travel within the core service zone. Extended-area appointments may require a travel charge or an approved meeting location, and some routes may not support the required program schedule.

A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO DOG TRAINING

Keep It Practical

The goal is not to sell every household the largest program. It is to identify what your dog needs, what you can realistically maintain, and which level of support gives the work the best chance to hold up in everyday life.

Begin with a professional in-home assessment. You will leave with a clearer understanding of the problem, realistic expectations, and a recommended path forward—whether or not you continue into training.
